The story behind our store
Harris Furniture
In the late 70's Don Harris brother of Arthur Harris started a small used furniture store in
the Fairview community of Rossville. That store Fairview Furniture was the seeds of
what would one day become H & H Furniture.
Don Harris seeing an opportunity for higher visibility moved to the downtown district in
Rossville in the early 80's, changed the name to Harris Furniture.
Don's brother Arthur, had been buying and selling furniture over the years. In January of
1984 Arthur Harris and Don Hale purchased Harris Furniture from Don Harris. The two
partners changed the name to H & H Furniture. Don Hale soon sold his stake of the
business to Arthur, but stayed on as Arthur grew the business. In 1985 Arthur brought
his son Teddy Harris into the business and he became the general manager of the
business until 2011. Teddy Harris became Mayor of the city of Rossville in 2012 and now
only works a few hours a day at H & H Furniture. In 2011 grandson Ben Harris began a
third generation at H & H Furniture.

stands. Bedroom furniture like chests (chest),chest of drawers, dressers
(dressers), dresser with mirror, and night stand. Wardrobes, Shelf rows, table
top tv ( tv's), televisions, television, sofa table, Microwave cart, Tv stand,
some office furniture, radio table, bookcase, coffee tables, end tables,
bookcases (bookcase). We really like dining room sets (like china cabinets
(cabinet) and hutches (hutch), Curio cabinets. Roll top desks (desk) also really
clean recliners. Dry Sinks, Corner entertainment centers depends on current
inventory. Early American dresser. Colonial furniture. Bedroom chests. Library
tables. High Boy Dresser. Working appliances, old pottery, antiques,
mahogany furniture, walnut furniture, cedar chests, glassware. We also buy
Antique things, like side boards, hutches, oak mission type furniture, call us
and see if we might be interested. Of course we are not a pawn shop so all of
the things that we like to buy depend on own current inventory. Current
inventory also determines our buying prices. If the furniture you have does
not appear on our list, call us any way, we may be needing what you have.

price for your goods. Dealers only buy what they know they can move and
make a profit on. If your looking to get retail prices your best alternative is
finding an individual to buy your goods.

Tragedy struck H & H Furniture on the morning of
March the 19th 1987. A fire consumed the entire
block in Rossville leaving H & H in a smoking heap.
Not to be discouraged by this misfortune Arthur
soon secured a new home for H & H Furniture.
